Stop Pollution It's important for residents of Salt Lake to understand that the community is located inside a crater. Therefore, any pollution caused in Salt Lake or flowing in from Aliamanu Crater will stay in Salt Lake. This causes a terrible smell and very poor water quality in the Salt Lake waterways. That's one reason it's very important not to create pollution.
